European hornbeam lumber impregnated with vivid dye through the full cross-section. Supplied at 40 × 40 × 400 mm in four standard colours — Brown, Red / Pink, Green and Yellow. The colour runs all the way through, so re-cutting or turning never exposes a pale core.
Coloured Hornbeam is European hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) impregnated with dye right through the full thickness. Hornbeam is dense and tight-grained, so the dye penetrates deep into the fibres rather than sitting on the surface — planing, sanding, turning or carving into the piece reveals the same colour throughout.
Each piece measures 40 × 40 × 400 mm and is supplied ready for the lathe, bandsaw, saw or carving bench. Finish to your own final dimensions; the colour will not sand or wear away.
Available in four standard colours: Brown, Red / Pink, Green and Yellow. Hornbeam is one of the hardest and densest woods grown in Europe, so the pieces work cleanly and hold sharp detail.
